Stu Rodman

Stu career included positions of increasing responsibility in manufacturing, finance and general management with several corporations.  Subsequently he was a co-founder and principal in an investment company specializing in turning around manufacturing companies.  Stu was an Eagle Scout, served as a Lieutenant in the US Army, received a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Cornell and an MBA from Harvard.  He has chaired 7 national, state, and local Christian ministries.


Public service includes the Beaufort County Council where he has served as Chair, vice-Chair, and chair of several standing committees. He previously served on the Board of Education.  In 2003, Stu served as a Commissioner on Governor’s Sanford’s MAP Commission that provided recommendations to reorganize and streamline SC Government.  He served on State Superintendent of Education Jim Rex’s Task Force on School Funding.  Senator DeMint and Stu founded the Palmetto Promise Institute, the leading policy think tank in the state.  He currently is serving on Governor McMaster’s Task Force on Fostering & Adoption.   


Stu and Nina reside in Sea Pines where he has served as Treasure of the Property Owners Association.  They have been married for 55 years, and have two children and four grandchildren.
