Tom Reitz
Tom has lived on Hilton Head Island for a little over 3 years, but he has vacationed on the island for 32 years. He fell in love with HHI from the moment he first crossed the bridge in 1990. He knew it was something special, and that is why now, he is running for Beaufort County Council District 11, to protect and preserve this place we call home.
Tom is originally from Carmel, NY and moved to Hilton Head Island in early 2019 with his wife Kris. They have lived in PA & NJ, and spent 16 years in Charlotte, NC raising their two children Matthew & Madison. He has his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the State University of NY and his Master’s degree in Management from the University of New Haven in CT.
Tom’s vast career in the pharmaceutical, nutritional and cosmetics industry managing his own consulting business makes him a solution driven leader with an ability to unite all walks of life. He has worked hand-in-hand with manufacturers around the globe to develop new products and negotiate long-term license agreements. Currently he is working with a natural products manufacturer as a Business Development Manager.
He is a community volunteer and a firm believer in giving back. He taught Faith Formation at church for 15 years, coached baseball teams, assisted at “A Child’s Place,” an organization that feeds the homeless children in Charlotte, volunteered with HomeWorx, a national organization that repairs homes for low income families, and so much more. Tom spent many election cycles in NY helping his brother run successful campaigns for Town Justice and County Justice seats.
Tom’s greatest strengths are his people and negotiation skills both of which have served him well in business, and will serve him well in this County Council seat. When elected, Tom will have the resident’s concerns as his first priority. He is a conservative with strong beliefs, but he is not your typical politician. He will fight for your freedoms and liberties. The ethics, values and commitment he will bring to this County Council seat will be invaluable. He’s a fresh face who prides himself on listening, prioritizing resident’s needs, and protecting the future integrity of Hilton Head Island. It’s time for change in District 11 and Tom is that change.
